The Most Powerful 2 Words In the Universe

The two most powerful words in the Universe are "I Am".
The Bible tells us that I AM is the very name of God.
When Moses asked God his name, I AM was the answer. That is the name of God, He is the Great I AM. God is First Cause, has always existed, indeed is all that exists outside of God. Do you realize that you and I create our reality and our lives by speaking His name a hundred times a day. That is the real meaning of "we are created in the image and likeness of God".

We identify ourselves and take ownership of an idea or condition in our lives by saying I AM. When you say, I am flat broke - you have just taken ownership of being broke and have spoken the same words God spoke on creating the Universe, so you can be sure that you will be broke! (for those of you outside the US, that means I don't have any money) You can use the I AM without actually saying the words. People like me never get ahead. People like me just seem to sail though life. The former creates struggle, lack and anger. The latter creates an easy, abundant, carefree life. Same power, used first in reverse and then forward. What will you choose?

What you think about yourself and speak about yourself can be healing or toxic to your outer reality. The I AM is a statement into the Law which always gives you what you believe and expect but not always what you want. We all want things, but the question is what do we expect? The gap between your expectation and your desire is what you lack in your life. You close the gap by expecting exactly what you want. The expectation and desire must be one and the same for it to manifest in your life. Most of us expect the worst and we are never disappointed because you always get what you really expect; what you really think you deserve in your heart of hearts. Do you want to know what you expect? Take a look at the facts of your life. Your life is a perfect mirror of your expectations.

This I AM power is a lot like electricity, which is just another manifestation of the energy of God. As the renowned motivator and teacher, Bob Proctor says: You can cook dinner with electricity or you can cook a person and we have done both in our society, on occasion. You see, electricity is neither good nor bad, it is all in how you use it. So it is with the Law of Mind Action, it is all in how you use it. Every hour of every day we are using this I AM power in forward or reverse. Contrary to what you may remember from Sunday School, God will not interfere no matter how you use the I AM power.

It is your decision and your right to use your God given power to go backwards into despair or forward into abundance and happiness. God did not make you to be an automaton; He made you to think, to reason, to feel and to choose. Remember, its your choice, but know that you have to live with the results! You are always held accountable for your use of God's powers; be it your Word - the I AM - or electricity. The secret is to know how each works, follow the rules of right use for each and be ready to live with the results of your words and actions.

I believe it is time to discuss exactly how we all create our lives, whether unconsciously or consciously. Hear this: We all create our own life experience with our Mind and its thoughts; what we allow to take root in our Mind and what we believe at the core of our being. Not one person has ever lived that is exempt from this great truth. Now you may not be aware that you are creating your life with your use of I AM and the Law that operates it, but in your subconscious mind lay the seeds of your immediate and distant future. What you have allowed to enter in to your subconscious, the ideas and beliefs you were taught or chose to buy into, are reflected in your daily life- your reality is merely a mirror of your thinking and believing.

What this means is that NOTHING in your life was created outside of you! You chose your relationships, you chose to explore new places or to stay where you were born, you chose the job you have, you chose to be educated or not, you chose your beliefs, attitudes and behavior. I know it often seems that life comes to you from the outside in, but in Truth Life flows from you and comes into form through you as your outer reality. Be very grateful for this, because if it were not so, you would be a powerless victim begging God to save you, to help you. You have the power and responsibility to help yourself - with the help of God's inspiration and constant help. We sometimes call this the Spirit Within or the Holy Spirit.

As the Bible says so simply: "As within, so without". Again Jesus said: "As a man thinks in his heart of hearts (that is your subconscious mind), so he is". The most important lesson Jesus ever taught is in that passage. In that one phrase the secrets of the Universe are hidden. We are thoughts in the Mind of God and your life reality is the sum total of the thoughts and beliefs in your mind. Your mind is different from the Mind of God only in scale. Both work in the same way. We often block our desires by allowing our Ego to constantly try to get into the driver's seat of our lives and put God into the back seat - this you must never allow.

You may say Dore', what about areas of the world that are in turmoil, in poverty or wracked with disease? Did they choose to be this way? Certainly not consciously! I don't believe any sane person wants to suffer with poverty or disease. These things happen by a lack of understanding that our personal reality is just the collective reality in microcosm. Without knowing the Law and how to use it consciously to create the life you want, you abdicate control and let your subconscious take over your life creation. Just as the individual creates their life with their thoughts and speaking, so a nation or a people create the collective life of their country with the attitudes, thinking and choices they make or allow to be made for them.

All things great and small operate by the same Divinely Ordained Law. As you or I think, so we are. God, the individual human and an entire nation. all create reality the same way. By use of the I AM power. In the beginning was the Word, as John describes the birth of all Creation. The Word is the birth of your personal reality. Watch carefully what words you think and speak!

A good example of the I AM (IT IS) power used in reverse is the present economic slowdown in the United States. The financial press began braying frantically about a looming recession and that the "bubble had to burst" long before it did. The "experts" who helped cause the "bubble" in the first place, now created a climate of fear guaranteed to create a recession. Nationwide fear set in. When people become fearful and lose their optimism, they stop spending, business stops investing in new factories and products, less is sold, so less is produced, which then produces layoffs and job loss. The "experts" expected a recession, we all listened to them and we got what we expected because we bought into their fear.

Fear is poison to people, to nations and to economies. What would have happened if everyone had gone on as if all was well and bought that new car, took that vacation, bought that new RV? That's right, no recession! It is the persistent negative use of IT IS (a form of the I AM) that has caused the apparent slowdown we now face. Ignoring the IT IS and returning our lives to a normal level of consumption and optimism will cure all this in a matter of weeks, if we have the will to do it. The recession, if it is such, all came about through the collective consciousness and a change in the collective consciousness is the only cure for this condition. Most people have no conception of the phenomenal power of thoughts and words. Thoughts, words and the choices they give birth to literally create the world we live in.

Let's bring it down you your life right now. How can you use the I AM power to create the life you want and deserve? Never again say I AM or IT IS unless the words that follow is what you want to experience. Refuse to own things that you do not want in your life. Yes, your present reality may be that you have no money but the minute you say, I AM poor you take ownership of your poverty, plant the seed of permanent poverty in your subconscious and you will be poor unless you replace this belief with a new I AM. Illness and disease also comes about by a negative use of the I AM and can be cured by replacing the belief in disease with a belief in perfection and wholeness.

What should you do if you have an negative or unhealthy belief still lodged in your Mind. Replace it with the image of what you want. A lower thought cannot exist in the presence of a higher one. You must intercede before the negative idea takes up residence in your subconscious.

We reason with our conscious mind but create our lives with our subconscious. Guard the door to your subconscious mind like a sentry guarding a treasure. Your mind is your treasure. We would not purposely poison our bodies; why do we daily poison our minds? Begin by turning off the news broadcast. Little of good report is ever heard on these broadcasts. How does knowing all the bad in your town or your country help you? Can you do anything about it but worry, get into fear and thus shut down your happy life?

Begin today to monitor what you take into your subconscious. Make sure when you say I AM that it is what you want to become or have in your life. Sounds easy - it may well be the hardest thing you will ever learn. The rewards are empowerment, Heaven on Earth and the peace of Unity with God. You deserve all the Good your heart can hold.

Don't wait another day to start the transformation of your life by the renewal of your mind.

The Case for God

It is very important to know who you are! How many of us have taken the time to ponder the question: Who am I? What is a human being and why are we endowed so differently than any other life form on this planet?

Are we the products of evolution and the natural extension of the great apes? Or were we created out of whole cloth in just six days about 5,000 years ago? Or perhaps the answer lies somewhere in between?

Did this planet, the galaxy and the Universe as we know it, come into being as a random act - a Big Bang? Did life appear due to some miraculous succession of coincidences where all the proper materials for life appeared in just the right time and place? Did humankind evolve from one celled matter into the magnificent creative creatures we call humans by the random chance of Fate?

No one really knows how it all began. Creationists have their belief with no proof and evolutionary science has evidence but no real proof, either. Here is what we do know. The Earth is infinitely older than 5,000 years and mankind has been on it, in one form or another, at least several hundred thousand years. We also know that on this planet and throughout the Universe is a common thread of order, elegance, and careful design. Nothing appears to have been thrown together by accident. Everything works as it should and it works simply and beautifully. Something or someone designed this whole thing! To believe in random chance creation is to stretch the bounds of credibility to a level of the ridiculous.

To illustrate just how foolish the "random act" theory is, imagine that a new Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft spontaneously arose, complete in every detail, from the giant aircraft graveyard down in Tuscon, Arizona with no human intervention at all and no creative mind at work. That, in essence, is what the Big Bang folks want us to believe. The aircraft graveyard has all the materials to build an aircraft but who is the designer, the creator and the motive force behind the creation? Is there a case to be made for the existence of God?

Who or what created the Universe? We know that every effect has a cause and having said that, who or what is the First Cause - the Creator of all that is? We call it God, for lack of a better word. You may call it Divine Mind, Universal Intelligence, Spirit but every day in a million small and wonderful ways, God is affirmed in our lives. Everything on this planet seems designed to delight and to assist mankind. From the beautiful blue skies above to the green grass and deep blue seas; it all fits us to a tee! I am sure that other advanced species on other planets have their right and perfect environment, just as we do here on Mother Earth.

What then do we say to the very vocal but small group who deny that God exists? We say, look around you! From the perfect composition of sea water to the unconditional love of a dog; to the exact formula of atmosphere that we need to breathe - it is all here! This entire planet is a huge stage set designed for humanity to act out its destiny. This was made for US! This is what the Bible is saying when it reminds us that we are stewards of this Earth, have dominion over it, but that it is a sacred trust we have accepted. Failure to discharge this trust properly will be fatal to all of us!

We can prove the existence of God every time we look into the eyes of a baby or watch a sunset. From our body's chemical composition to the design of our large intestine to the brain which the Mind operates - it all was designed by the greatest Mind we call God. There are no accidents on this Earth. It was all by design but who and what was the designer? For lack of a better word, we call It, Her or Him - God.

To me, God is not a person. God is not a super human. God is not like anything we can experience or have ever experienced. God is beyond human comprehension, which is why we have Jesus and other prophets and teachers to personify God for us. God is too big for our Earthbound minds but we have known Her forever in our Divine Mind - that part of us that has lived forever and will never die.

Why do you suppose that every great religion on the planet has a human being, a great soul, as a teacher, prophet or a "son" of God? Perhaps it is because we cannot conceive of who and what the Father is - He is unapproachable and unknowable to most of us. Just too vast a concept for our little minds.

The Mind of God has no beginning and no end. It has no birth and no death - it is truly timeless and limitless. It has existed before any matter ever formed, before the first star lit the black void. It is First Cause, the Alpha and the Omega, the circle of life that has always existed and will evermore exist. I have come to understand this God and to know Her well.

That great Mind is accessible to us but we must open the door and believe. Faith is the ignition key of God. No Faith - no God. This is why the atheist will never experience God, because they have no faith in anything beyond themselves. Their world is tiny, they are alone in a sea of unexplained vastness. I shudder to think what that must be like for them. To live life as a candle blowing in the wind, destined to be snuffed out and never know why? No thank you!

What is the proof of a great Mind, a First Cause, a Benevolent Spirit behind all that is? Look around you at the magnificence right in front of you. There is all the proof you will ever need. The wonders of life are not a random accident!

The Jesus I Know

As a Religious Scientist I sometimes miss Jesus. Oh, I know that the Master Teacher is always there, ready to come into my heart and mind whenever I am open to the experience. But I miss hearing more about the real Jesus - the magnificent man who transcended his humanity in a way that no other person that we know of has done. You see, those of us in Science of Mind (Religious Science), while once openly metaphysical Christians, have now in our churches and teaching banished Jesus to the sidelines in search of inclusiveness and as a reaction to Fundamentalism.

Fundamentalism has mounted a marvelous and totally successful marketing campaign aimed at forcing their antiquated and wrong headed view of The Christ on the entire Christian community. They have done this by means of their doctrine of the Five Fundamentals and told all other Christians that if you do not accept each of these doctrinal principles as literal truth then you may not call yourself a Christian.

The effrontery of these self appointed arbiters of faith to tell me and countless millions of other Christians that if we do not accept the medieval and pagan myths of Fundamentalism; if we do not agree to park our minds at the church door - why then we are no true Christians! In fact, they trumpet to the world that all who do not bow the knee to their error filled view of Christ are members of a heresy or worse - a cult! I doubt that the Master would feel much at home in a Fundamentalist Church - particularly in America!

Here is the Jesus I know and love. He is Yeshua Ben Joseph the Jewish, Essene lad we have chosen to call Jesus, although he would never have been called that in life. Joshua, as I prefer to call him was a man - 100% human. He was not half god/half man in the Greek demi-god tradition as our Fundamentalist brethren maintain. He was born of a man and a woman, not begotten by God, and that is what makes Jesus such an enduringly special and powerful force in human history! Were he a God, nothing he did or said would be exceptional in any way! The miracle is that a HUMAN did it!

God creates but never begets! We are all the sons and daughters of the most High God and the Indwelling God; which are one and the same. Are you aware that no one in Jesus' own time had ever heard of the myth of his virgin birth? That idea appeared first in the 9th century CE (the 800's) and was totally unknown in his own time. Paul, who wrote 56% of the New Testament and was the earliest contributor to the New Testament, made NO mention of any birth out of the ordinary for the Master. If it were common knowledge, why Paul's total silence about a Divine Paternity in all his writing?

The Jesus I know was friends with all the wrong people. He broke bread with tax collectors (the most hated and social unacceptable men in Israel or Judea). He ministered to lepers who were thought so contagious and dangerous that they were stoned to death if they appeared in town. He consorted with prostitutes and saved an adulteress from stoning. His best friend in the world was Mary Magdalene, a rich widow of questionable reputation. He refused the table and company of the Priests and Pharisees as he believed them to be oppressors of the people and morally bankrupt. He befriended and healed the children of Roman officers - hated as occupiers by all Jews of the time. He refused to call himself the Messiah when the people wanted him to lead a revolt against the hated Romans. He refused to judge any other man or woman, warning that those who judge will surely be harshly judged themselves. Only the Creator who gave life could judge it and take it away.

Jesus befriended Samaritans, the half Jewish and half Greek people who lived just north of Judea and were despised by the orthodox Jews as unclean and infidels. Sounds like the ranting of intolerant ministers today, doesn't it? Jesus traveled with an entourage of wealthy women - a truly scandalous thing to do in that era. He forgave all who sought forgiveness, he judged no one, he loved all as his brothers and sisters regardless of religion, race or previous sin. Those who believed that his Word had power, he healed without thought of who they were or expectation of payment or reward. He taught all who came to hear the Truth - no one was barred from his presence or his table. He refused to prove his Christ hood before the Pharisees; Truth needs no proof and the Master understood this well.

He transcended his humanity time and time again; when he could have escaped and lived a peaceful life as a teacher, he refused to abandon his destiny which was to be the anointed messenger of Truth to a world that thirsted for his Word. When he fell hopelessly in love and was so tempted to live the normal life of a Jewish husband and father - he swallowed his longing and grief and renewed his ministry and his healing. This is the Jesus I know and love!

I know the Jesus who loved without hesitation or qualification. The Jesus who asked each of us to transcend our petty humanity and reach for the greatness that each of us has within. The Jesus who taught us that death was another kind of birth into a new state and a new realm. Because of Jesus we could now face death without fear. I know the Jesus who by his example taught us that love is the most powerful force in the Universe. The Jesus who taught us how to pray affirmatively and powerfully, expecting and knowing that our prayers are answered before they are spoken. I know and love the Jesus that came to bring us the abundant life.

This magnificent man showed us the way to live, the way to love, the way to die when the time comes. If he were a demi-god as the literalistic Fundamentalists would have us believe, all that he did would have been simply normal behavior for a God. To do what he did as a fully human man was the miracle and the lesson. When we make the Master into a little tin god, we diminish his greatness and miss the entire point of his ministry on Earth. Christ means the anointed one - the man touched by God and given a destiny to bring the Light of Love and Law to all mankind. Jesus was indeed the Christ.

So can we all be. As the Master said on many occasions and in many ways: All that I have done, may you do also - if you believe.

He did not mean for us to believe in him! He meant for us to believe and to trust in God the Father, whose good pleasure it is to bring you the Kingdom of Heaven right here and right now - if you will receive it! If you are estranged or do not know this Christ Jesus, open your heart, your mind and your spirit and let the unconditional love he personifies flood through every cell of your being. Let the peace that passes all understanding heal your body, your mind and your spirit. Come home to the Jesus I know!

AND SO IT IS!

God's Operating System

When I was a child I had a very difficult time understanding how God could allow all the bad things that happened to the Earth and her people. Why were thousands killed in an earthquake in Tokyo and hundreds dead of Hurricane Donna in the Gulf Coast? Doesn't God control all things, including the weather? Doesn't God care about what happens to his children? Why doesn't he protect us and keep us from harm?


When I would ask a minister or my mother's Rabbi friend, I would get a version of the "God works in mysterious ways" answer. This did not satisfy me and I did not believe in a God who worked that way. I thought: "Why have a God at all, if He is not going to take care of us?"


Now this bothered me because I remembered being healed of cerebral palsy through the power of Spiritual Mind Treatment (affirmative prayer) by my dear Mother who would not accept a crippled life in an institution for her baby boy. If she could do that, using God's power of prayer, then God must exist! Something just did not add up for me.


There must be a truth that I had not yet learned. Indeed, there was! My entire concept of God and how God operated was 180 degrees wrong! God is NOT a parent - God is a Creator and in this fact lies the entire error of our thinking. We are not God's children, we are God's Creations. You may ask, what is the difference? Well, If I am a writer and I create a novel I care not one bit who reads it or whether they are good or evil. I just care that they read my book. It is my creation and I care about it but I do not become involved in its distribution, sale or what happens to it after the sale. God creates us but allows us the gift of free choice - to create the life we can believe in and accept. Whether we know how the Law works, we create our lives according to God's Law - there is no other way to create anything. The trick is to learn to use the Law to consciously create our life the way we want it to be. We can stop being a passenger in the back seat of our lives and learn to drive the car! Do not think that we are alone and without help!

Now this does not mean that God is dead to us and is unavailable for help and direction. God is always available, never closes and is always ready to assist us in any way possible. How God does this is the key question. God does not meddle, or micro manage our lives. God uses the operating system of the entire Universe to empower us, to direct us and to support us. This operating system is the Law. God operates by scientific principle. God operates the same way each time, is predictable, and even handed. This fact is the greatest gift God could possibly give us.

God is not a human and is therefore not subject to human frailties such as favoritism, caprice or bad temper. God is a Spirit, the creative intelligence of the Universe; the author of the big bang, the designer of evolution, the engineer who designed the entire cosmos and everything in it.

God invented science, man just discovered it! God invented electricity - the universal power source of all creation, man just discovered it! God is the architect of the Universe and of everything that is in it. As a scientist, God has instituted immutable laws on both the physical and spiritual planes of existence. They always operate, they are totally dependable, they are totally impersonal - they work the same for the saint and the sinner.

We all know some of the laws of the physical world such as gravity; the law that states that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, the laws of thermodynamics and many others. These laws must be unchangeable and they must work every time for every one or else the entire planet would fly to pieces and all life would cease to exist. We can depend on gravity to hold us down upon this planet spinning dizzily through the heavens at 18,000 miles per hour.

So too we can depend on the spiritual laws that God has ordained for us to use in creating and managing our personal reality. Here are just a few: The law of cause and effect. For every thing that appears in our life (an effect), there is a cause. That effect can only be changed or eliminated at the level of the cause; fooling around with the effect cures nothing. This is the basic law of the Universe!

We see this effect fiddling every day in our culture. Doctors often fiddle with symptoms or the effects of illness but rarely cure the dis-ease. Why? Because they never address the cause of the disease. They look only at the physical world for the cause and the cause is always mental and spiritual. The mind and spirit must become sick before the body can exhibit the sickness. One day, physicians will treat the mind and spirit first while containing the symptoms with medicine or surgery. At that point, we will have true healing. What about cancer - a disease that touches so many lives today.

Cancer is made more probable by certain lifestyle choices like smoking but it is caused by long term sadness, grief, anger or bitterness. We poison ourselves with our anger and hurt and then look for a physical cause. Cancer is the body turning upon itself. It does this at the mind's bidding - of itself it can do nothing. The spirit and mind must be transformed and healed before the body can be totally healed. All healing must take place at cause - never at effect. We rearrange the "deck chairs on the Titanic" when we work with the effects. The cause was the hole in the hull and any remedy that did not address the cause was doomed to fail in the life of the Titanic and in our lives.

My life's work is to empower people by teaching them how to consciously and deliberately use the Law to create the life they want and deserve. Why not drive the car and get out of the back seat of your life! More next week!

The Way It Works!

I am writing to you from London tonight. I have just returned from a small English town by the name of King's Langley in the County of Hertfordshire, about an hour north of London. In the auditorium of a secondary school in this quiet village (the world headquarters of Ovaltine) took place the first Science of Mind conference held in the UK since 1909! How remarkable that Science of Mind and New Thought had almost disappeared in the nation of Thomas Troward, one of the greatest of the Fathers of New Thought and a direct inspiration for Ernest Holmes, the Founder of Science of Mind.

What is even more remarkable is that the auditorium was packed with hardly a seat open. Hundreds showed up, even though the fee for the weekend of speakers, seminars and workshops was 95 pounds-a bit more than $190. There is apparently a great hunger and market for what Science of Mind teaches and this conference, organized and in part funded by volunteers, was a success beyond the most optimistic estimates. Congratulations to all who helped to make this precedent setting conference a reality.


What we don't perhaps realize is that the UK is an intensely secular nation with a real distaste for organized religion of any kind. In England the churches are almost empty and those few who do attend are in their 60's or older. Religion is out but spirituality is very much in.

This is where Science of Mind comes in. We are not a religion, never have been and have no intention of becoming one. We are a spiritual philosophy that appeals to intelligent people looking for something more than a life lived on the surface but we are never divisive or set ourselves apart with special ceremony or do's and don'ts. Rather we empower, enlighten, and teach the thread of Truth at the basis of all life and all religion. Religion, by its nature, divides humanity into camps; each sure that its way is the only way. The world can no longer tolerate religions that divide. The attempted car bombings in London and Glascow over the last two days have graphically demonstrated that the us against them mentality must end.

Never again must anyone kill in the name of God. To do so is to totally misunderstand the very nature of God. God is the Loving Universal Mind which permeates all things. God does not care whether you cover your hair or let it fall to your shoulders. God does not care if you are Muslim or Christian - Buddhist, Jewish or Hindu.

God did not make religion. Religion is a creation of humanity. Let's be clear- no religion is the Truth about God - not one! Religions are, at best, a poor attempt to explain what we do not have the words to explain - the vastness of the Mind of God, the unconditional and everlasting Love of God and the Oneness with God that is our very nature. In rejecting religion, we must not reject God for God is all there is and to reject God is to reject all Creation. God and religion have little or nothing to do with each other.

All that exists in Time and Space begins in the Mind of God. All that exists on this plane of existance begins in the mind of a human, inspired by God. On this world and many others, God works through us, as us. We are the creative agents of God on this earth, empowered by the Mind of God. Creation is the process of transforming the Word into form. This Creative Process has four major components. Let's look at them now, as we contemplate the world as it will be when we all realize at last our Oneness in God.

1. Every act of creation must begin with a desire. Without a vision or desire nothing can be created. Those who want nothing, who have no passion for anything - create nothing. Desire is what creates the mental picture that is the raw material for any creative act. What do you really desire? Love, money, home, children, inner peace and fulfillment - what?

2. A clear and unwavering mental picture of what you desire. When I say clear I mean clear. All the details, the color, taste, smell, how you will feel when it comes into reality and its yours.
This picture is like the slide that you put into the projector at a slide show. Without a picture on the slide, there is no show. What is your picture and how clear is it? It can be as material as a new car or as spiritual as world peace or inner well being. Doesn't matter, one is as valid as the other. Keep the picture clear, don't cloud the lens of your mind with doubt, worries about how it will come or when.

3. Will. Your will is the Will of God individualized. Without will, there is no light with which to project your slide or desire upon the blank canvas of the Law, which is the system of creation.
Your will is central - it is the light bulb in the projector. If it is weak or flickering, so will the picture be cloudy or flickering and your desire will never come into form. Strong will produces strong demonstrations. Remember, the Law is like a white wall upon which you project your desire. The brighter the light, the clearer the picture. The stronger the will and the clearer the picture the more the white wall of the Law can reflect your desire back to you as your reality.

4. Faith. Faith is what keeps your light or will, bright, clear and steady. People who do not trust in the constant operation of God's Laws of Creation have no faith. Without faith the light goes out or flickers on and off. Weak light projects nothing. Faith is the real key.

You see, you must know that when you create your mental picture, put your will to it and keep the faith that your picture will harden into form in accordance with God's Law; that it will happen each and every time. When it does happen you have not caused anything to change, you have just brought what already exists in potential into form. You have managed a power that has always been yours - indeed it is your birthright.

You have not transcended natural Law, you have used natural Law as it is meant to be used. Your desire is already created the moment you desire it; it just needs you to turn on the light, trust in God's Law and let your desire harden into form just as hot wax will always harden into a mould as it cools. It is not magic or New Age, it is spiritual science. It is the Law of Cause and Effect in operation. Your desire is Cause and the Effect is the realization of what you want. Unless you muck it up with a weak will or little faith, it will always happen.

Facts, family and friends will often tempt you to doubt that your desire can happen. They want to make your light flicker, don't let it! Facts are the residue of someone else's beliefs. Facts are desires or beliefs that have hardened into form and they have NO power over you. Ignore the current facts and focus on your desire as already done. Expect it! Creation is independent of precedent. You and God are a majority and nothing can stand against you!

Turn on your light, keep it strong, trust in the process and watch your world transform!

Winners and Losers

What makes one person always seem to be on the winning side of life while another always seems to miss the brass ring - never seems to get a "break"? Oh, I know that we like to say that there are no winners or losers in life and, to an extent, that is true. We all end up the same place and we all have to die first to get there!

However, we all know people that have a life journey filled with fun, abundance, health, joy, adventure, love, challenges met, growth and learning. Others have a life of struggle, sorrow, boredom, failure, illness, poverty and never enough of anything. Is it because God favors some and turns Her face from others? Not my God! One of the hardest things for us to "get" is that God never plays favorites any more than you favor one finger over the other. You are to God as the fingers of your hand are to you. Each unique and separate, yet part of the whole.

Some say that life is a giant lottery where some get the breaks and most are doomed to defeat and lack. This reduces life to a cosmic dice throw! My response is baloney! This explanation is the explanation of a loser who needs to place blame outside himself for his failure. Winners know better. Here's the Truth of the matter according to Dore'.

All of us were given the keys to the Kingdom of God long before we were born. God has known us and loved us for eons of time before the date of our physical birth. We have always lived and will never really die. The body may wear out but our minds, our essences live on. We are of royal blood, we are the dearly beloved of the most high God!

Each of us was endowed by our Creator with talents, desires, attributes that are unique to us. We are all given the tools for an abundant life. Not all of us are beautiful; not all are smart; not all are witty; not all are physically strong, but all of us have the seeds of our success hard wired into our very soul. We all have the opportunity to shine but few do shine. Why? Because we just don't know the winning secret and often when we hear it we refuse to believe that it can be that simple! Those with ears to hear and eyes to see, here it is:

Your outer life experience is merely a reflection of your inner self. You will never see success, joy, abuandance and health if you expect poverty, illness and sorrow. What you believe in, what you expect, you get! If you feel that you are unworthy - you will project unworthiness and will not be able to receive what God has put there for you. If you believe that life is full of illness and that "germs" wait around each corner to lay you low, then you will spend a great deal of time sick. You are sick inside long before your outer body becomes ill!

Yes, science does tell us that germs carry disease but why are some people always sick and some almost never sick living in the same house, going to the same school, working in the same place? Because they are different inside, therefore the outside is different. They expect differnt outcomes and they get them. Here is a story that illustrates the "loser" consciousness very clearly.

I have a friend who owns several rental properties and over breakfast he told me a story that illustrates just what we are discussing. One of his tenants was unable to pay his rent and after several extensions was still unable to meet his obligations. My friend had to ask him to vacate the home but knowing that this man needed cash to find a new place he did something I have never known a landlord to do before. He told his tenant that if he left the property clean and in good condition that he would receive $1,000 cash upon leaving the property. My friend was going to pay his tenant to do what he should have done in any event - as a way of helping him get on his feet. The tenant seemed pleased by this bargain.

What do you think happened? Did our wayward tenant get the cash? Here was $1,000 cash on the table ready for him and all he had to do was clean the place up! Would you have taken my friend up on his offer? I would have! In fact, I told my friend that I would be pleased to clean any of his properties for $1,000!!

Our tenant left the property a mess- so filthy that it was shocking. This is a losing attitude. Someone tries to help you turn a bad situation into a win and you cannot muster enough character and common sense to get the broom and mop out and do what you know you should do. Instead of leaving in good graces with a decent reference and cash in pocket, this fellow has nothing; no self respect, no place to live and no money. Whose fault is that? Why do you think the man acted this way? What would you have done in his place?

The cause of this failure lies with the tennant not being able to get beyond his ego and his sense of fear, hurt and anger and to see the great gift that he was being offered. Rather than say, Gee thanks, that is very decent of you and then clean like crazy, he dove into victimhood and made the whole affair someone else's fault. He failed to take responsibility for his actions - the non payment of rent. He failed to see that he created this whole scenario and that if he wished to do so, he could salvage some good out of it.

He could not imagine taking the high road, doing what he knew he was obligated to do, so he went down the well hewn path of the loser and, indeed, lost again. Of course I am certain that this incident just re-inforced his belief that nothing good ever happened to him, why did God allow this, why was he a born loser?

Now what about the winning consciousness?

Here are the five main characteristics of a sucessful person - a winner:

1. Takes responsibility for his own actions (not blame - responsibility) Once you realize that your life is YOUR creation, then you are in control and can create whatever life you want.

2. Does what he says he will do in all cases. His word is his bond. He can be depended on. As part of this, he is wise in what he promises and never over committs or over promises.

3. He gets it done, on time and well. Does not procrastinate or sluff off obligations. He eats the big frog first, as Rev. Edwene Gains so aptly puts it.

4. He is modest and builds up those around him, giving praise to all who made his success possible. He is grateful to God from whom his talent, strength and very life comes, and for all he has in life. He knows that we are all One in God and he is a team player.

5. He cares nothing for being "right" or fixing blame but focuses on the job to be done - on what he wants to happen and then gets it done!

As you are inside - so will be your life outside. You are rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic of your life if you believe that outward changes will bring a changed life. All change comes from within, just as all that is created comes from the Mind of God.

Are you ready to be a "Winner"? The loser in you must die and you must give birth to a new you. You must change the whole way you do business in this life. Amazing Grace!

Guilt, shame, poor self image, depression, feelings of worthlesness. These are epidemic in our culture today; especially here in the United States. So many people that I encounter in my daily life seem to be haunted by the shadow of past hurts or the shame of things they have done. In Science of Mind, we teach that what you are inside - your inner man or woman - is perfectly reflected in your outer reality. In other words, your outer world is merely a reflection of who you are inside. If the inside is dark, hurt and feels unworthy, is it any wonder that your reality is not so wonderful?

It is easy to see that if you feel unworthy, shameful, guillty with a "weak worm of the dust" mentality, that these feelings will outpicture in your life. The key needed for us to be released from this prison of hurt, pain and shame is to understand God's Grace. Grace is a vey misunderstood concept and I felt it was now the time to turn the spotlight of Truth on it.

Grace is never earned. You cannot receive Grace through good works or kind thoughts. Grace is a state of being One with God, in sync with the flow of God's love for you. You earned your Grace long before you were born. It is your birthright. You are beloved of God, no matter what you have done, who you have hurt, what wrong you have committed or what wrong has been committed upon you. God's love for you began long before you had a body or a human personality. God's love for you is unconditional - it never wavers, it never ceases.

You are not a surprise to God. The Great Mind we call God has known you forever and will know you forever more. Long before your sojourn here on Earth began, you were a friend of God. God created you - do you not know that He/She knows you better than you can ever know yourself? Indeed, you and God are one substance, one mind. God's love is unconditional, not bound by judgement or condemnation, as is human love. You do not have to "behave" to receive God's Grace. You do not have to be Holy to receive God's Grace. You do not have to go to church to receive God's Grace. You do not have to receive Jesus and your "savior and Lord" to receive Grace. You earned grace the moment God created you with Her thought and gave you life with a Word. Nothing can change that fact.

How then do we become consciously aware that we are in a state of Grace? All you must do is to accept God into your life as your friend, your strength and your great inner voice. That inner voice of God provides 24/7 counseling service free of charge and is never closed! You see, you really are never out of God's loving Grace; you just forget and deny that you are in it, therefore this becomes your truth. God does not move away from you, but often you and I have moved away from God. God is as constant as the Northern Star, always loving, always welcoming you home.

Grace is the healing balm that soothes all hurts, heals all wounds, restores our faith and our power. Grace is eternal forgiveness whether we deserve it or not. We never deserve God's Grace but we always get it, if we are open to it. Our job is to get out of God's way, open our hearts, know that God knows exactly who and what we are and not only does He not care but She is proud of us and celebrates us. You are a work in progress from your first breath to your last. You are never a finished product and knowing this, God does not expect anything from you but to love yourself and to be the best you know how to be at that point in time.

Loving yourself is so important. If you cannot love yourself, how can you love another? You were made by God the way She/He intended you to be made - perfect substance made from a Perfect Mind. That you fall short is due to your error thinking, it is not a flaw in the your design. You have the power to change what you believe; to change what you allow into your mind, into your home and into your life. You have the power to rise above all your past errors, all your past hurts and soar into the life you were born to live.

Try this exerecise right now. Sit quietly and imagine God's Grace flowing over you from the top of your head, down the sides of your face, over your arms and chest, down your legs to the limit of your extremities. Feel the warmth, the peace, the joy sweep over you as the love of God flows over and through you. Keep the Grace flowing until you feel renewed in body, mind and spirit. You probably will feel like you are being caressed with something soft, warm and delightful.

Do this as often as you wish, knowing as you do it that it is God holding and loving you. God loves you so much more that any human is capable of loving anything or anyone. God's love is a love beyond our imagining but perhaps if you think of the most powerful feelings of love you have ever experienced and then square them - you may have an idea of how God feels about you. You are beloved of God because you are God in microcosm. You are to God as your fingers are to your hand - distinct but never separate.

Be peaceful, no matter who you think you are, God knows you and God loves you anyway! Her Grace is yours for the asking and the receiving. Open the windows of your life and let the Light of God shine in!
